I don’t like that many food & kitchen items. It takes a lot to impress me. The following are some of my staples:
Sichuan Peppercorns. Also known as Chinese coriander. Spicy, unexpected, and not at all like black peppercorns, it’s better. It will change the entire taste of your dish. Truly an amazing item you should stock up on. Get it online or at an Asian grocery.
Chervil is my absoloute favorite green herb. And it’s not easily available in stores, so stock up when you can find it. If you can grow it, please do so. It’s great in egg dishes, sauces, and everything else. It smells like parsley, but tastes phenomenally better.
Ghee is a must have item. Clarified butter. Keep this in your pantry. No need to refrigerate. Excellent in everything from sauteing to sauces.
Because there is a difference. Grassfed butter has a difference in color-it’s very yellow, and in it’s superior taste. I use the unsalted pastured, grassfed butter. Kerrygold is a good one. The silver label is unsalted, the gold label is the salted version.
This is an oil that can’t be heated for cooking but is excellent for those home made salad dressings and is an essential ingredient to throw in the mini food processor with basil for a good-for-you high omega 3 basil oil. Good for your body, skin, & well, also your brain.
